In Sendoso, there are several roles that you can assign new users to when setting up your account. In this article, we'll go through how to invite users, assign them to specific teams, and how roles and permissions work within the Sendoso platform.
Before we go through all of the ins and outs of roles and permissions, we'll go through how to invite users to specific teams.
Teams and Users Hierarchy
Here is a chart that illustrates how individual user roles fit into each Sendoso instance.
Admins are at the top, and have access to everything in their instance. Department Admins only have access to the managers and senders that are within their department.
Managers have access to the Senders that are on their teams and Senders will only have Sending, tracking, and other capabilities.
Below, we'll go through the permissions that each of these roles have by default.

In Sendoso, there are Default Roles and Custom Roles. The latter is a role you can create with specific permissions you'd like to grant that role. First, let's go through the default roles in Sendoso.

Custom Roles
On some Sendoso plans, Admins can create custom roles. This functionality allows you to name and select which of the above permissions that role has access to.

Best Practices and FAQs
Can users be members of multiple teams?
Based on the structure of the users in a Sendoso instance, you will notice that individual users can't be a part of multiple teams. For this use case, we recommend that users who need to monitor/manage multiple teams be placed in a team of their own.
You can create an "Admin" team and everyone in that team can look over the entire instance. There is no limit to how many Admins you have within your instance.
