The following are the major steps to the inviting and gifting experience with Alyce:
1. On your Alyce Dashboard, you will upload the name, email address, and any additional information about the person to whom you want to send a gift invitation via Alyce.
Best Practices:
- While the only required fields are the name and email address of the recipient, the more information you give us about the recipient, the better the recommendations that Alyce can make.
- Please share the recipient’s company if you do not have their company email address.
- Know where the recipient is from? How about their favorite sports team? Are they a foodie? Any of this information will help Alyce in determining the perfect gift for them.
- If you don’t know information beyond their name, don’t fret - Alyce will work its magic and come up with something great.
- If Alyce can’t come up with anything with the information you’ve given, you’ll be given an opportunity to add more information, and Alyce will try again or Alyce will recommend popular gifts.
- Alyce will never send a gift on your behalf without your approval.
- The price range for the gifts recommended will be based on the campaign settings.
2. Alyce performs research on your recipient and recommends 1-3 personalized gifts that you might want to send them.
Best Practices:
- We think you’ll like what Alyce came up with, but if you don’t, we’re determined to make sure you find just the right gift. You can either:
- Choose a gift yourself
- Ask Alyce to retry (and if you give Alyce more information about the person, it will help)
- If you don’t receive gift recommendations within a couple of days, be assured that Alyce is working to get them to you as soon as you can.
3. You send a personalized gift invitation (either via an email invitation or physical invitation) and determine actions required (if any) for the recipient to accept the gift.
Best Practices:
- You’ll have the opportunity to personalize your note - take this opportunity to show the research that you and Alyce have done on the prospect/client.
- In general, the shorter the message, the better; gifts generally have higher acceptance rates when they’re on the shorter end; 3-4 sentences is plenty to make a strong impression.
- Make the note genuine - your recipient wants to be treated like a real person.
- For best practices around messaging, visit this article.
- Usually, it will already be decided whether you are sending email invitations or physical invitations.
- When sent via a physical invitation, your notecard will be printed but look more like handwriting than standard text.
- In the campaign settings, you (along with the campaign owner and send-as person) have the ability to receive a notification when the gift invitation has been sent and delivered.
4. The recipient opens your invitation.
Best Practices:
- In the campaign settings, you (along with the campaign owner and send-as person) have the ability to receive a notification when the gift invitation is opened/viewed.
- If your recipient doesn’t view your invitation right away, don’t worry! There are a variety of factors why they might not have seen it yet, such as traveling.
- You might want to send a reminder email to the recipient to take a look at your invitation if they haven't viewed it yet.
5. Recipient claims, exchanges, donates, or rejects gift - if you required certain information or actions to be taken in order for the recipient to accept the gift, you’ll see it appear when your recipient takes an action.
Best Practices:
- In the campaign settings, you (along with the campaign owner and send-as person) have the ability to receive a notification when a gift is accepted/exchanged/donated/declined.
6. If gift was claimed, gift is mailed to recipient.
7. You have a happy prospect/client!
